28 – 30 April 2016
Dates: 28 – 30 April 2016
Venue: Connecting Space Hong Kong (Directions)
Subsequent to the Call for Potentials by the organisers of “Slow Spicy Curatorial Practices“, a selected group of creative talents are handpicked to participate in the 3-day intensive workshop that is taking place between 28 and 20 April 2016, bringing together curators and artists from Hong Kong and Zurich to start an exchange process on contemporary curatorial topics on the collaborative ground of the project.
Joined by soundpocket, NuDD, independent artists and curators, the Spring Kitchen explores and intertwines curatorial and artistic practices. Understanding curating as a form of care (lat. curare as taking care for), participants fuel the reflection on urgencies with the question – ‘What do you care about?’
Through playful formats, interventions and excursions, we want to trigger collaboration that transverses artistic disciplines. During three days we hope to open up possibilities for collaboration within the framework of “Donate to Curate”, which will be presented at the Manifesta 11, while developing research topics for the exchange programme in Zurich.

About Donate to Curate
Donate to Curate – a project lead by the transdisciplinary group “Slow Spicy Curatorial Practices” in the framework of Connecting Spaces Hong Kong – Zurich at Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) – is part of Manifesta 11, The European Biennial of Contemporary Art which 2016 is hosted by the City of Zurich and entitled What People Do For Money: Some Joint Ventures. The project will take place on a fallow ground nearby the ZHdK, in the middle of a new commercial zone of the former industrial part of the city. The basic infrastructure will be made of waste and recycled materials and is thought as a shelter for people, artistic practices and events. We are looking for artistic, social and collaborative projects to be realized in summer 2016.
